weeked snapshot

We celebrated the Autumn Equinox with a feast of curry on Friday night at our local Indian restaurant, an early morning train ride to Germany, a 32km ride along the river to Trier for an all-you-can eat breakfast (complete with German beer) and then home for a gentle afternoon preparing food our second equinox feast with friends that night.

It was the best combination of good friends, good food, good nature, good activity and good feelings.

Hope your Equinox weekend was just as good as ours. And now, bring on Autumn!

*Sigh* . . . your equinox feast and weekend look marvelous. I’m ashamed to say that once again, I failed to celebrate the equinox (I’ve been meaning to celebrate the changing seasons for the last couple of years . . . as well as some of the important Christian holidays that get overlooked, like Pentecost . . .). It’s just so hard when nobody else around you acknowledges these big days, you know? Feast days are meant to be celebrated together. WINTER SOLSTICE, FOR SURE. (Heh . . . ).

Thanks for the comment you left on my blog, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you better! (Virtually, of course :) )

It tends to be more good intentions than actual plans for me too!
I love the significance and meaning behind the little rituals, the decorating, the being mindful of the days passing. But yes, I would love if this became more common for my friends and neighbours too – celebrating alone is never so fun!
Bring on the solstice… ;)

I love what you are saying and yes we do need to celebrate the change of season. I for the past few years lived where I couldn’t see the seasons and how beautiful they are. It is great reminder that it is a special time. I get chills when fall comes around. Gotta love nature and how amazing it is. The world at its best is always changing and showing it’s many colors to us. Not always beautiful but amazing.

Thanks for reminding us of it.

I really, really wanted to do something… And Friday mid-day everything changed, the weekend was between tears and worries… My heart was not up to any sharing or any feast :-(
I “mis-commented” on you post “dear me”, I just wanted to say I would rather not have to do the exercise to write to me and look back. I have some painful remembers (like yours) that are buried carefully and I would not like to dig them out…
Thanks for your blog.

Steph, I well understand that lack of desire to dig up painful old memories. At the right time, I think it can be a healing process, but it should be done in a space that’s full of love and support. I hope you find that place. I’m so sorry you have so many burdens on your shoulders right now. Thinking of you and sending you a big hug.
