Serve the City is a movement of volunteers serving in Luxembourg. We believe that many people doing small things together makes a big difference.
A team of six of us launched Serve the City Luxembourg in December 2012. We’re part of the global Serve the City family, that all started in Brussels in 2005. Serve the City creates events that mobilises volunteers to serve in simple ways, through meals, beauty afternoons, practical projects, friendship and more. We are the connection between the good intentions and talents of people who could volunteer and a meaningful opportunity to get involved.
I LOVE working for Serve the City! It is an honour and a joy to see people find a way to give back their time and skills, to show love and compassion to people in need in our community. Uganda and Burundi Trip 2013
In May and June 2013, Rasmus and I visited Uganda and Burundi on a two week trip. During that time we got to visit and see the work of two wonderful organisations:
We were invited to visit founders Kelley and Claude Nikondeha in their Burundian home and visit the amazing work they are doing in the Bubanza and Matara communtieis through their NGO Communities of Hope.
We also spent time in southern Uganda with River of Life Church, Masaka, an organisation we have supported for a number of years. There we got to visit the ministries of the church and meet our two sponsored children for the first time.
We recommend both of these fantastic organisations to you for your support. You can also read all the stories from our trip here to find out more.
