the sun came out today
after a week of fog and freezing rain
and it is distracting me
i keep finding myself gazing out the window
instead of answering those last few emails
before my holiday begins
and i leave this office
and the johnny cash music on the stereo
head home to rush packing
and get on a train
back to england
for a wedding i’ve been looking forward to
of someone i care greatly for
and a week of baking
and singing along to old musicals
with my favourite person in the whole world
i am so excited to see her
i don’t think i can wait two days
so much to look forward to
this is why the sunshine is distracting me
because today it is reflecting my mood…
