this week my attention has been mostly held by…

  • Mbeki’s resignation and Zuma’s acquittal. Oh South Africa, what is happening to you?
  • Environmental challenges – we’re trying to be greener at JP and Toby is blogging about it
  • Church. What should it be looking like today? (the stuff at Small Ritual is worth a look)
  • Mini banana Whoopie Pies, Lemon Squares and Apple & Oatmeal pancakes
  • Democrats, Christians, and abortion – a tres interesting article on Tony Campolo’s decision to help write the Democat abortion platform
  • Family. Mum turned 50 29 and Jen moved house. And dad wrote me another email of comedy genius. I miss them.
  • Every day should be car-free day. Nothing like seeing Rue de la Loi filled with hundeds of bikes instead of hundreds of cars
  • Buskers. Especially the AMAZING old bald guy with a toothy grin, beard down to his chest, who plays rock and roll classics like Chuck Berry (who incidently is playing in Brussels next month at the grand old age of 82!)
  • This truly awesome giant cupcake mould
  • The incredible Thomas Newman original soundtrack for Meet Joe Black which I have been playing over and over
  • How much I miss my friends when they’re gone
  • This verse from Proverbs 4:18 “The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day”
