Today we have been home one week. I gave myself that week off to recover from the bug I caught in New York.
But today is officially start day. I have my studies to get back to after a break for our holidays, a new eight week course on web design starting today, and project list as long as my arm! Maybe I’ll tell you about some of them as I get them done.
For now, I am not job hunting which is both strange and liberating. Maybe that will happen again in a couple of months, but for now I have other plans, other ideas. And I want my time to be productive and exciting! I am blessed to be in the position that we can survive without my income for a bit longer; I know how unusual that is and I don’t want to take it for granted.
This feels like a new start in many ways and my head is bursting with ideas and plans. There’s so much to do! I am also working hard to keep the voices that say I can’t do it at a quieter level. Today though, they are barely whispers and I am excited to see what I can accomplish.
I found this video this week (it was on a couple of different blogs, so now I can’t remember where I saw it first…) and it was inspiring to me. I tend to get discouraged at the “beginner” stage of any new venture. This is reminding me, you have to get through the part where you still suck, to get to the part where you produce something that you can be really proud of.
Oh, and I love Ira Glass (he hosts the awesome radio show This American Life).
