As each day comes to us refreshed and anew, so does my gratitude renew itself daily. The breaking of the sun over the horizon is my grateful heart dawning upon a blessed world. ~Terri Guillemets
Today I am thankful…
…for the opportunity to write and research and learn as I do.
…for an evening at a fancy bar with new friends to talk to.
…for the sunshine which has been greeting us nearly every morning for two weeks.
…for getting to the stage in this “newness” of having people to text for a morning coffee.
…for a little boy who is obsessed with instruments – “it’s a cello! it’s a big violin!”
…for the example of a good friend who is persevering through a challenging time, and managing to hold on to hope.
…for a husband who gets out of bed first every morning so that I get an extra half an hour in bed.
…for two visits from our parents in the next six weeks to look forward to.
…for “name that film” texts from my sister, making her feel not so far away.
…for my mum. Who writes beautiful things about being a mother.
…for early morning coffee in Mickey Mouse espresso cups.
…for new opportunities, and people willing to take a risk on an untested event planner.
…for skype calls with faraway friends and their cute babies.
…for three bananas turning brown which give me the greatest excuse for baking later on.
…for finally, after many hours, finding a way that we can get to Scotland to visit my Grandpa without spending most of our savings.
…for the knowledge that this being new thing gets easier with each day.
…for grace, which is new every morning.
p.s. I know most of my posts contain a picture of the sunrise at the moment. It’s because I have not yet got over how wonderful it is to be up with the sun and see the world come to life.
